Dr Jeremy O’Brien Dr Jeremy O’Brien Dr Jeremy O’brien. MBBS(syd uni) Dr Jeremy O’Brien earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney in 1992. After 3 years of general hospital work and 2 years of general practice work, he spent another 5 years in surgical fields such as trauma, orthopaedics and plastic surgery in many of NSW busiest hospitals. He passed his surgical primary examinations in 1998. In 2001 he transitioned into Melanoma diagnosis and management due to the ever increasing demand for skin cancer services with Australia’s ageing population and hot climate. He commenced practicing skin cancer medicine initially at Balgowlah and then Maroubra, but settled into the geographic heart of Sydney in Parramatta, where he has worked to gain a large patient following since 2005. Dr. O’Brien is renowned for his very thorough top to toe examinations and for being punctual, seeing many of his patients even ahead of schedule. He will see anyone from the public at large, no referral is needed. Many GPs and specialists recommend patients to Dr. O’Brien for ongoing care and management. He has many contacts at the local Westmead Hospital for the occasional serious case. He has extensive skin cancer experience and has been finding and managing melanomas for over twenty years. In the year 2020 he saw over 50 new melanoma diagnoses. Many hundreds of minor skin cancers are also successfully treated each year, using any number of methods from topical creams to cryotherapy, curettage, shaves and complex excisions. And this is all done efficiently and with a smile.
